More than a sweet, Pastel de Tentúgal represents a historical, cultural and social heritage that is worth discovering, because through it we get to know the women who made the history of pastel, the places where it was born, the route of families, the life of the Convent. Finally, we get to know how Tentúgal grew and how pastel is much more than the ingredients that make it up. On the confectionery and heritage route visits, we offer our visitors a discovery through the town’s history and the life stories of some of its protagonists.

When you observe a pastel de Tentúgal you can’t help but notice the thin, almost transparent pastry, that in apparent fragility withholds a sublime ovos moles ( sweet egg) filling.

With this experience you will discover the amazing history of this traditional delicacy and you will assist the most beautiful moment of its creation: the stretching of the dough.

In Convento de Nossa Senhora do Carmo we will hear the rich and moving stories of all the professed sisters of Carmel who lived there. This building is the most striking feature of Tentúgal’s landscape and silhouette with its Torre do Desafogo. There, we will be able to relive the daily life of the Carmelite community and understand how, despite the cloister in which they lived, they knew how to create so many ties with the village’s population. From the sheltering families of the sisters to the life of the Meninos de Roda, we realized what the strength of the community was.

In northwestern Portugal, between Alto Minho and Trás-os-Montes, we find the Peneda-Gerês National Park, the only Portuguese protected area classified as such. Considered by “The Guardian” as one of the 10 best Natural Parks in Europe, it is “a world apart” in which nature and human beings are in perfect harmony.

Designed for regular cyclists (road or mountain), this Gerês Cycling Tour will last 9 days, with 7 days of cycling and a total distance covered of approximately 500km, in a cumulative total from 5000 to 8000 meters of altitude, exploring the interior of these majestic scenarios.

Our team will provide assistance and there will be a caravan with the group during all the program.

The program includes accommodation in single rooms.

The Portuguese navigators were the first ones to arrive to the new world back in the 15th century, and due to that we had an important role on the contemporary European cuisine, since we introduce some goods that are now part of the daily habits of the European, like rice, potatoes and spices.

In this experience you will discover our culture through the taste, and you will get to know the history of our contemporary gastronomy.

The highlight of this experience is that you will learn how to prepare an authentic Portuguese meal, you will visit as well some of the most authentic taverns and hang out with the locals.

Are you ready?

This team building activity will raise the senses of all the participants and will test your negotiation and sagacity skills. By forming different teams, participants have to distribute the tasks so they can manage the available time. While you fulfill your chores, you will be surrounded by Porto authenticity and its people, you will know the most traditional products and raise your senses on searching for the right ingredients.

After the ingredients selection, you will have a workshop that will teach you how to do the authentic “francesinha”. The secrets of this Porto delicacy will be shared so all the participants can became ambassadors of the wonderful “francesinha”.

After all the team effort in its preparation, this “francesinha” will taste even better!

Francesinhas (porto typical sandwich) is like the tripeiros (Porto´s inhabitants) of the invicta city: rude, contradictory, passionate and very spicy.

Rude – because it is a strong, complex and intense gastronomic speciality in terms of the way its cooked;

Contradictory – because when we look separately at the ingredients, we never could imagine that would result so good as it does;

Passionate – because it causes a set of sensations on the palate;

Spicy – because a true “tripeiro” (Porto inhabitant), never hide his feelings, expressing what he thinks in a sincerely and spontaneous way.
